HSCP - Learning from Safeguarding Practice Reviews (SPRs)

Target Audience

It is essential that professionals across the partnership network understand and learn the lessons from safeguarding practice reviews to inform their practice. This session is therefore aimed at all staff including:

Local Authority (Children’s Social Care, Early Help, Youth Justice Service, Housing, Adult Social Care)

Police across all grades

Health Care including health visitors, midwifery, clinicians, GPs

Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) from school

Probation Service Practitioners and Managers

Voluntary and Community Sector

Faith Sector

Training Description

This session will explain the purpose of a Safeguarding Practice Review (SPR), examine learning from national reviews and how we can use this to shape our own safeguarding practice.

Learning Objectives:

To understand the purpose of Safeguarding Practice Reviews

To explore what have we learnt from our SPRs

To delve into the learning themes from the National Review of recent cases including Star Hobson & Arthur Labinjo-Hughes

To find out what you can do and what help can be provided

To establish how can we embed the learning into our own practice
